The night is a particularily busy one, not at all out of the ordinary for a busy city like this. Humans are usually asleep during the best hours, but in bigger towns they prefer moon to sun just as Soojung does and she has so much to pick from around here. Of course, there is more logic to choosing smalltown life - who would hear the cries of a town not even on the map? Yet Soojung gets bored of that far too easily; if there is no commotion, then what’s the fun? Troublemaking has no point if the authorities do not realize trouble is being made. It’s what draws her here, to streets that are teeming with life even in the most lifeless of hours, midnight means nothing because that is when things are only getting started. Nothing here will go unnoticed - there are too many people.

Fortunately for her - and for everyone else - Soojung is not hungry. She’s only looking for fun. Buildings to tear down, people to scare, trees to uproot. She wants the cops to come screeching around the corner to find that their suspect is already gone, calling in backup and copters and canines to help search for someone they’ll never ever find. It’s the only time Soojung is willing to be on the other end of the chase because she knows she is in control, knows she is untouchable. Witnesses are never a problem - all killing is done in secret, shadows her best friend.

However, there is one thing wrong with her plan, and that is the fact that she’s alone. She’s had fun on her own before, of course, but every social being must experience loneliness at least once in their lifetimes. Whether Soojung likes it or not, she is, in fact, a social being, regardless of how much time she actually spends being social. Yes, she is in need of a partner in crime, someone to laugh with as they set fires and break skin.

Soojung adjusts her eyepatch as she walks, well aware that people are staring at the band of fabric. Better they give looks of pity at what they think is an injury rather than looks of horror at a single red eye glaring back at them. She doesn’t know of any supernatural in the area. Those of her kind don’t typically “get friendly” with each other upon moving in. Perhaps she will find someone as she wanders, clock ticking ticking before midnight strikes and she resigns to do it with no one’s company but her own.

Hoseok had never feared the intrusion of darkness. Simply because to him, there was nothing to really fear. His gift was his privilege when like this, and as azure eyes scanned the gloomy alley below, from the rooftop he was situated upon, it was with a wide smirk upon his lips.  These hours, when darkness was there to cloud the sight of humans and keep him hidden in consuming shadows, it was when he had the most freedom. Or so he thought. Because it meant he could use his abilities to their true extent. They were still developing, albeit him having exceeded the age of twenty. Slow progress, perhaps because he hadn’t had the time or opportunity to actually test things properly. Not very often.  It had grown easier, after moving away from his mother and living alone. Seoul was a large city, with al kinds of people and creatures and it made it easier for him to fit in, even though he liked to run just a little bit too fast most of the time, or display his enhanced strength on the most stupid of locations — at the dumbest of times. Because nobody asked and he didn’t have to tell.

It also made him stay up at night, to push his own limits further and further. This was indeed one of those occasions, and as he rose to stand properly, having crouched for a good five minutes to keep himself out of sight, he backed away from the rooftop’s edge. His blood was boiling with a desire for mayhem, in all honesty, and as he backed a few more steps, stopping only for the sake of bracing himself, he went through his options — not many of them present as he found himself alone. As usually. He sighed, lowered his head for a moment, counting silently to himself and then he was off. Four calculated steps, carried out with perfect timing and as the sole of his shoe collided with the concrete below for the last time, pushing off to send him a good three or four feet upwards, as well as forward, he was close to yelling in delight, Because the rush of adrenaline was extraordinary, and as he landed safely one the neighboring rooftop, he laughed; clasped his hands together in victory. Because he had beaten his own expectations again, expecting to find himself falling towards concrete and face another upcoming day of bruises and soreness. But no. He had made it and it felt fucking great.

But even so, it caused him a bit of grief, that he had to experience this moment of childish glee on his own. And it made him stop his motions, lips pressing into a thin line as he stared up at the stretch of indigo above his head. He cursed to himself, shook his head before he rubbed at his forehead with gentle fingertips. After a moment of contemplating his own choices, he got down from the empty rooftop, another graceful leap towards solid ground and another eased landing. He dusted himself off, straightened properly and then he began to walk, hands in his pockets and blue eyes focused on the road before him. The streets were far from empty, senses registering every scent, each word spoken and it always made his head feel like it was about to explode. But recently, he had at least learnt how to handle it.

So of course he noticed her. The girl with the eyepatch, who carried a scent that lacked a few human elements, as well as carried those who complimented her natural scent batter. Much like his own. It made him squint, stop for a moment before slinking aside to rest his back against the smooth tile of a nearby wall — for the mere sake of observing. He knew he was too curios for his own good, staring at her like that. But he couldn’t help it. Because maybe, just maybe (if he played his cards right ) he could possibly have found someone to have just a little bit of fun with.
