After a moment, he closed his eyes and breathed in, the ache in his chest growing stronger. Leon’s scent lingered on their bed and it reminded him how the older man hadn’t been home in some days. He’d go down to the living room to sleep on the couch again soon, not wanting to spend the night alone on their bedroom. Even with his sensitive hearing, he didn’t catch the sound of the door opening, or of the footsteps against smooth wood floorboards. The shifter didn’t realize the vampire was home until he heard the sound of his voice.
Eyes shooting open, Luhan lifted himself up on his elbows and stared at the man leaning against the doorway. “Asce…” he murmured softly, almost not believing that he really was there. When the other sat down, Luhan scooted closer to him and wrapped his arms around his middle, pressing his face against Leon’s stomach. “Where were you?”
As his lips remained curved upwards, in the smallest of pretty smiles, he couldn’t tear celadon hues away from the younger male. There was a brief hint of comfort, enveloping his senses whenever Luhan was near. Not only because the strong emotions that had since long caught his heart, but also because he had been the one to care for the shifter for so many years, that his safety would always remain a priority. Leon remembered now, and he remembered most of it. Bits and pieces still failed to make sense, but the most crucial pieces of the puzzle had been put back together.
As soon as arms wrapped around his middle and Luhan pressed his features against Leon’s own stomach, the crusnik couldn’t help but to let his smile widen for a moment as letting slim fingers smooth over soft strands of hair. “ Work kept me busy. ” He stated calmly as draping his free arm over the male’s back. “ I’m sorry for not coming home. ” He mumbled moments later as letting his eyelids slant, merely peering down at the shifter. “ I was honestly afraid you wouldn’t be here upon my return. ”
